Job Opening: Executive Director

The Kingsport Housing & Redevelopment Authority (KHRA) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Executive Director. The Authority is responsible for the administration of roughly 1100 housing choice vouchers (HCV) and an additional 400+ vouchers through various programs such as the project-based voucher (PBV) program, RAD-PBV, HOPWA, Continuum of Care, Tenant Protection Vouchers, Stability Vouchers, and Homeownership. The Executive Director reports to the KHRA Board, which consists of five members appointed by the Mayor of the City of Kingsport. A detailed job description may be viewed here.

The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, public administration, urban planning, public finance, or a closely related field. Substitution on a year-for-year basis of full-time paid professional related employment will be considered. The candidate must have five years of experience in the affordable housing industry. The annual starting salary begins at $110,000 per year or commensurate with experience and certifications. The selected candidate will be expected to reside in the Greater Kingsport area.
