Lee Family Learning Center

The Lee Family Learning Center (LFLC) was started in 1992 with the mission to work within families to reverse the heritage of under education and poverty. LFLC provides literacy programs, individual tutoring and after school programs for school age children. LFLC provides GED and remedial college courses, parenting classes, nutrition classes, adult self-sufficiency assistance, education and career counseling for adults. The center is one of three “Safe-Havens” named in the Weed and Seed area of the City of Kingsport. LFLC is located at 651 Dale Street, in apartments 1, 2 & 3.

Lee Family Learning Center Mission:

Lee Family Learning Center is a family education program working to intervene and prevent the continuing cycle of under-education that is repeated in many families from generation to generation. LFLC is conveniently located at 651 Dale Street, Apartments 2&3, and offers a wide variety of educational opportunities for people of all ages. There is something for everyone. From a computer lab with internet access to homework help from dedicated staff, you can find an avenue of learning that best fits you and/or your child/children). LFLC also offers an onsite Cub Scouts program at no cost to the family. LFLC also pairs up with Kingsport Park and Recreation for onsite summer youth programs.

  • LFLC continues to work cooperatively with other agencies, Resident Associations, AmeriCorps Community Cares members, and its host is KHRA, to provide diverse programs, services and events.
